About the Movement

The Movement for Change is a political organization founded and led by Alan Kyerematen. It seeks to inspire and demand the change we need to transform Ghana and shape a brighter future for our people. The brand logo for the Movement is the Monarch Butterfly. This symbolizes change and transformation, hope, and positivity. It also communicates strength, endurance, spirituality, and trust. The brand motto of the MOVEMENT is “Ghana Will Rise Again,” which symbolizes hope for the future of Ghana. The Movement for Change is open to all Ghanaians seeking a change to the status quo. It will be led and powered by the youth of Ghana.

Why Movement for Change?

There are four dominant themes underpinning the change agenda of the Movement.

A. Change the political status quo by moving Ghana beyond the duopoly of the two main political parties in Ghana: the NPP and NDC

This will break the divisive partisanship in governance in Ghana, bring an end to the “winner takes all” political syndrome, and ensure Good Governance.

Encourage reforms in political parties' internal democratic processes to ensure inclusiveness.

B. Promote the establishment of a Government of National Unity

Unite a divided Ghana through Inclusive and Effective participation of different stakeholder interest groups in Governance. This will promote equal Opportunities for All.

Establish a Government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

C. Build consensus on a National Development Agenda

Develop a new paradigm shift in National Development Planning that moves Ghana from growth and stability to economic transformation.

This paradigm shift is articulated in the Great Transformational Plan (GTP). The GTP is anchored on 15 key pillars with 10 enablers which are the critical success factors for the GTP to be realized.

D. Inspire positive behavioral and attitudinal change in the people of Ghana.

Transformation in Ghana will require a concerted effort by all Ghanaians to achieve the following:

Fight corruption through institutional and legal reforms, leadership by example, technological innovation in public service delivery, and societal pressure and advocacy.

Create a functional society that prioritizes discipline and getting things done.

Celebrate competence, excellence, and meritocracy rather than mediocrity.

Emphasize solution-based thinking and execution.

Strengthen commitment to the rule of law for national development.
